Being towards death

Heed not to the tree-rustling and leaf-lashing rain, Why not stroll along, whistle and sing under its rein. Lighter and better suited than horses are straw sandals and a bamboo staff, Who's afraid? A palm-leaf plaited cape provides enough to misty weather in life sustain. A thorny spring breeze sobers up the spirit, I feel a slight chill, The setting sun over the mountain offers greetings still. Looking back over the bleak passage survived, The return in time Shall not be affected by windswept rain or shine.

Please stay away from groups that like to discuss national strategies and international situations.

You often hear some people passionately discussing the major situations of certain countries, international events, and global economic trends, especially when some men are drinking together, where the discussions become even more fervent, as if each one of them were an expert in international finance or global affairs.

In fact, if you observe closely, you will find that the more idle and restless people are, particularly those at the bottom of the social ladder, the more they enjoy talking about these distant matters. In contrast, truly outstanding individuals rarely discuss topics that are unrelated to their own work.

But why do only some ordinary people at the bottom like to talk about these things?

  1. Boredom: An ordinary person at the bottom has no career of their own; they merely work eight hours a day, often wasting that time, and many do not work at all. Therefore, they have plenty of time to look at irrelevant matters.

  2. Inability to control their attention: A person's attention is very valuable; where your attention goes, your growth will follow. Ordinary people at the bottom cannot control their attention; they are swept away by online content, browsing things unrelated to their careers.

  3. Using superficial topics to enhance their sense of value and presence: When ordinary people at the bottom discuss national affairs and international situations, they often feel a sense of superiority. They think to themselves: "Look at how knowledgeable I am, how well-informed I am; I can see international affairs clearly. I'm so impressive." After such discussions, they often feel good about themselves.

They enjoy talking about these grand topics that have nothing to do with them, which are utterly useless; their work won't lead to a raise, and their skills won't grow. The only thing they gain is a waste of time. What's worse is that they indulge in this, fantasizing about how exceptional and knowledgeable they are. Years go by, and while they may understand international affairs well, their pockets remain empty.

The reason ordinary people at the bottom have no money is that their attention is misplaced. When you watch short videos, you are actually increasing the traffic for the video creators; your attention is drawn away, and they are making money while you gain nothing but wasted time. If an ordinary person wants to make money, they need to focus all their attention on their own career and not pay attention to things that seem grand but are unrelated to their work. If you really want to pay attention, you should think about the logic behind the events and consider how you could create a similar media account yourself. This way, your attention becomes valuable, rather than just skimming the surface and following the crowd.

We must always remember one thing: our attention is money. Many online platforms want to firmly control our attention. Short video platforms continuously push content based on your preferences, providing you with constant visual and auditory stimulation, making it hard to stop. Have you noticed that sometimes you can scroll through short videos for several hours without realizing it? Short video platforms are constantly studying you; their goal is to lock your attention tightly, ideally consuming all 24 hours of your day on their platform. While you waste time, their wallets are gradually filling up. And you? After scrolling through short videos for so long, how do you feel? Do you feel empty, anxious, and over time, develop a sense of dependency? Whenever you have nothing to do, you unconsciously open short videos and keep scrolling.

Find a small thing to study deeply, invest your attention in it, and research this small thing every day. With the passage of time, you will surely gain something. What you should focus on are these reliable, participatory matters, not discussing national affairs or international situations. Please stay away from those ordinary people who love to engage in grand discussions.
